In case you’ve been ignoring the Bat Signal lighting up the sky, featured on Oreo’s brilliant cookie packages AND some epic toys at McDonald’s, Matt Reeves’s The Batman, will be released on Friday 4 March 2022!

Robert Pattinson (Tenet, Twilight ,The Lighthouse and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), continues to defy being typecast in any role and will be donning The Dark Knight’s cowl as a younger rich playboy-turned-vigilante.

He is vengeance in the latest trailer:

Joining Pattinson in this latest outing for the Bat are ZoΓ« Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Paul Dano as the Riddler and Andy Serkis as Alfred.

As a 90s kid, I am particularly keen to see how Farrell and Dano put their stamp on the roles so firmly etched in my and other fans’ minds by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns (1992) and Jim Carrey in Batman Forever (1995).

For comic book readers, The Batman draws on the Year One story arc written by Frank Miller. I suggest heading to Superfans’s favourite local comic book store, Readers Den, in Claremont or Tygervalley to get your issues.

The Batman will be released on Friday 4 March 2022 at Ster-Kinekor and Nu Metro.
