It took us an entire weekend to do between us but Leonie, Tendai and I FINALLY watched all four hours of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, released to much fanfare on HBO Max and our reviews are in!
In case you’ve got lockdown brain and have missed ALL of the announcements on social media and the Internet, the Snyder Cut presents his original vision for the ultimate DCEU team up:
We pride ourselves on being able to passionately debate the good and bad of all of the shows and movies we watch and this time is no different. However, we haven’t been this divided on our opinions on a feature since the Game of Thrones finale!
Here’s each of our short reviews on Zack Snyder’s Justice League:
” I loved it. Not going to get into the technical stuff and expanded storytelling and character arcs… but I loved the fact that Barry and Victor had extended back stories. I’ve always complained about DC films being chaotic and loud. This one wasn’t. It had a much better score which made it more palatable for me.”
“Bring back Bataffleck! I don’t know what more people want but he delivered as an older Bruce Wayne and as the Dark Knight. And he needs to stop going to sleep and having dreams. It’s too much!”
And finally, mine:
“I am happy with the fleshed out Cyborg and Flash bits and there were some cool action scenes but … really, there was no need for this. What is evident is exactly what I felt about it in 2017: it was too soon to have a group movie. Honestly, I just want to skip to the Batman and Joker stuff because that was lit.”
